As an advocate, I combine a strategic, common-sense orientation with sharp legal skills to quickly hone in on the pivotal issues, identify the path to a favorable resolution, and implement the legal strategies to get there.
I do this with an abiding focus on the client’s strengths, challenges, and goals. That may mean working with the other side to negotiate a fair resolution, or it may mean filing a legal action and having a judge or jury decide.
Regardless, a good advocate is a good story-teller. A winning story is a true story, but there is more than one "true" story to tell about every case. I help my clients tell their stories by identifying winning narratives and themes, developing the facts to support them through discovery, and presenting them in way that is clear and compelling.
Although facts win cases, they operate in the context of the law. The law is complex, sometimes subtle, and almost always ambiguous. My job as an advocate is to construct the legal framework that will support my client's unique story and achieve their goals.
Mine is a hands-on, case-by-case approach. At each step, I weigh the options with my clients, explaining the costs and risks--always with an eye down the road, a plan for how to get there, and the knowledge and experience to execute it.
